CATEPELOISE - 5th August 2020
The caterpillar stitch has become one of the most intriguing and impressive of all the exposed sewing techniques. The sewing pattern which travels across the spine, begins on the cover with the antennae and head of the caterpillar and continues across the folds, sewing the signatures as you proceed onto the back cover.
You will learn how to make:
A giant “caterpillar” or two or three! onto hardcover books with multiple signatures. Sewing experience is essential for this class.
• Make decorative sewing a part of your binding expression
• Add visual drama to your one-of-a-kind books by incorporating the actual sewing of a book as part of its decoration.
Time: 10.00am -2.00pm
All materials and tools are supplied at the Bindery, along with self-serve tea, coffee and biscuits.
