Good eye/hand coordination and good dexterity are necessary for this course as sharp knives are used in the cutting of board and paper.
You will be shown correct procedure in the use of these tools but good co-ordination will assure accurate cutting and prevention of injury.
Closed in shoes MUST be worn at all times.

Course description:
This intensive workshop is for those who have completed Level 3 Bookbinding and is looking to expand on those skills and add to their Fine Binding repertoire.

Course content:
You will choose a book block from a series of beautiful children's classic titles with illustrations and learn to attach decorative endpapers, sew headbands and cover your book with luxurious Morocco goat skin, finished with traditional gold tooling.

Learning outcome:
By the end of this course you should be able to:
• Cover an existing book block
• hand sew headbands
• pare and cover using Morocco goat skin
• Be introduced to Traditional gold tooling on the cover and spine

Alice in Wonderland
The Brother's Grimm
Aesops's Fable

Holding deposit confirms your place and are non-refundable. Should you change your mind, it is transferable within 12 months onto another course or in credit for materials and tools. You will receive an invoice for the rest of the amount owing 2 weeks before the commencement of class.
