Introduction to Gold Finishing

Traditional gold finishing is taught with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations using exquisite finishing tools and real gold leaf. First we practice on plaquettes, then we learn how to 'run up a spine'. Superb result can be achieved with practice.

• You CAN come with a pre-bound book covered in Morocco or Calf Leather, ready for gold tooling. Make a book in an open bindery session or sign up to a Level 2 refresher. This is not necessary.

Materials:
All materials and tools are supplied at the Bindery, along with self-serve tea, coffee and biscuits. Lunch - toasted sandwiches can be pre-ordered.

Please note: This is a technical workshop: Only those who have completed Level 2 onwards or already have a good understanding of Binding and is capable of producing a leather book, ready for gold tooling to bring to class.

HOLDING DEPOSIT:
Holding deposit confirms your place and are non-refundable. Should you change your mind, it is transferable within 12 months onto another course or in credit for materials and tools. You will receive an invoice for the rest of the amount owing 2 weeks before the commencement of class.
