A sketchbook is a working document, a set of visual notes. It is a personal document that is a learning and recording tool and it doesn't get more personal than making your own.

This workshop will teach you how to make:
A traditional botanical style book in the sewn-board binding technique, that opens flat; great for sketching, printing and ink pens.

The book opens up flat, to ensure maximum space when sketching, painting or printing. We shall alternate leaves of thinner drawing papers with thicker leaves of watercolour papers. Make a versatile sketchbook that is great for drawing, writing, journaling, printmaking, watercolour painting and pen and ink.

For this workshop, you can choose to make an A4 book, using luxurious artist grade 250gsm 'toned' art paper in grey.
For an A5 book, you will use 150gsm art paper in off white.
The books shall be finished in hardcover with your choice of specialty book cloth and beautiful decorative papers in marbled designs or vintage patterns.
