Everyone needs a box for your bits and bobs. What better than one made by yourself (or three), covered in specialty book cloth.
In this beginner-friendly class, your teacher Isabelle will guide you through how to make a set of three nesting boxes step-by-step. These boxes are designed to fit into one another, each with a different construction and design.
You will learn to measure and cut boards precisely, fitting the pieces together like a puzzle. The boxes shall be covered in book cloth.
You will learn to make three ESSENTIAL style of boxes:
- Box 1 A box with a fitted lid
- Box 2 A box with cap lid
- Box 3 A box with an over hanging lid
Each box shall be made to nestle one inside the other!
26th October - A box with a over hang lid
2nd October - A box with a fitted lid
9th November - A box with cap lid
Time: (7 - 9pm)
Materials can be included, or you can supply your own. If you are sourcing materials yourself, you can use what is suggested below for ease.
Tools you will need:
A board cutting knife (absolutely necessary)
Materials in your Bookbinding Box:
Book cloth - at least 1/2M
Magazines for waste paper
Book Board 2.35mm at least 1/2 M
Decorative papers for lining
Closing date for booking for those requiring materials delivery in the Sydney Metro areas is 4 days before class commences.

Select individual Premium tools or standard tool for purchase as necessary.
This is a technical workshop. The workshop requires a certain level of capability and confidence in using sharp instruments and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected.
No refunds for Online workshops once commenced. A Zoom link shall be sent out to you a few days before. We shall start gathering students 10 minutes before the workshop. Lateness shall not be accommodated.
