Take a walk on the wild side with this fun and resourceful class of wild bindings!
We will have a play with cane toad leather and bind it into beautiful book using a 'quick leather binding technique' developed by Isabelle.
You will learn how to make:
i) ONE beautiful book made in a variation of a Bradel style Bookbinding technique, in a square book format, using toad leather and beautiful book cloth.

Materials can be included, or you can supply your own. If you are sourcing materials yourself, you can use what is suggested below for ease.
Materials received from us shall have all papers and leather cut to size, ready to go.
Tools you will need:
A paper cutting knife (straight-blade)
Materials you will need:
64 sheet A4 paper (at least 110gsm) short grain, folds down to A6
Glue stick or PVA (minimal)
Book cloth - at least A4 size
A piece of toad lather
Magazines for waste paper
Book Board 2.35mm at least A4 size
Closing date for booking for those requiring materials delivery in the Sydney Metro areas is 4 days before class commences.

This is a technical workshop. The workshop requires a certain level of capability and confidence in using sharp instruments and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected.
No refunds for Online workshops once commenced. A Zoom link shall be sent out to you a few days before. We shall start gathering students 10 minutes before the workshop. Lateness shall not be accommodated.
