This workshop will cover all the tips and techniques for successful traditional marbling. We will demonstrate the traditional styles as well as free-form techniques. You will be given the recipe for making your own size and marbling paint mixtures.

Currently fully booked.

Have fun creating your very own marbled papers - welcome to bring your own paper, fabric and book for edge marbling or anything else you want to experiment with and marble to your heart's content.

This is a highly specialised workshop and therefore tailored to a personal 1-2-1 experience. You can have up to 4 people in a class if you book together as a group. This ensures that each individual will be able to experiment and work in peace without jostling for space.

The tutor will demonstrate:
• preparing your own size
• mixing paint
• how to create various tradition and free form marble designs
• edge marbling
• marbling with fabric

20 Full size sheets of special marbling paper will be provided, but welcome to bring your own variety to have a great experimental day.

Further marbling kits can be purchased.

All materials and tools are supplied at the Bindery, along with self-serve tea, coffee and biscuits. Lunch - toasted sandwiches can be pre-ordered.

Please note: This is a technical workshop: No experience necessary, but the workshop requires a certain level of capability and confidence in using sharp instruments and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected.

Holding deposit confirms your place and are non-refundable. Should you change your mind, it is transferable within 12 months onto another course or in credit for materials and tools. You will receive an invoice for the rest of the amount owing 2 weeks before the commencement of class.
