If you’ve ever dreamed of creating your own clothes, crafting unique items, sewing bags, or simply using your sewing machine to its full potential, our monthly sewing sessions are perfect for you!

Sewing is an incredibly practical and rewarding skill, whether you’re mending a hem, tackling creative projects, or designing something entirely unique.

What You’ll Learn:

For Beginners

  • Sewing Machine Basics: Learn how to set up and use your machine confidently.

  • Basic Techniques: Practice threading, sewing buttonholes, hemming, finishing raw edges, and more.

  • Essential Terms: Master sewing jargon like seam allowance, bobbin, and topstitching.

  • Troubleshooting: Solve common sewing machine issues with ease.

For More Advanced Sewer

If you’re already familiar with the basics, bring your own projects or choose from our workshop selections. We can help with:

  • Pattern Reading & Adjustment: Work with commercial clothing or craft patterns and tailor them for a perfect fit.

  • Bag Making: Create any style of bag, including totes, hobo bags, clasp purses, and backpacks.

  • Soft Crafts: Learn to sew rag dolls, teddy bears, and other soft toys.

Flexible Options:

  • Book into one of our sewing machines or bring your own (we use Janome machines).

  • Bring your own materials or select from our project kits, which include everything you need.

  • Book a pre-session meeting with Isabelle to plan your project and get advice on shopping for fabric and supplies.

  • All essential tools are provided during the workshop, including scissors, threads, needles, chalk, pins, and more.

Meet Your Tutor

Your instructor, Isabelle, brings over 8 years of teaching experience at the Edinburgh College of Art (University of Edinburgh), where she taught dressmaking, pattern-making, bag construction, and soft crafts (toys and dolls). Her supportive and expert guidance will help you bring your sewing visions to life, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned sewer.

Join us for an inspiring session filled with creativity, learning, and fun. Spaces are limited, so don’t miss your chance to turn your sewing dreams into reality!
