What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
No previous bookbinding experience is required to join our Beginners class. However, enrolment in Level 1 and advanced classes is only available upon successful completion of the Beginners course.
Participants should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, including health and safety guidelines. Basic numeracy skills, such as taking simple measurements and performing basic calculations, are also required.
How will I be taught?
One-on-one individual learning (private booking)
In-bindery tuition in groups of 8 - 11
All sessions are taught with practical demonstrations and individual attention as required from a highly skilled and trained Bookbinder.
All our bookbinding course lasts up to 3 hours, with a small tea break.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
For all in-bindery set courses, all materials and tools for working on will be provided along with refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits).

Course Cancellation
Courses will only be cancelled in the event of unexpected or exceptional circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative class. There is no minimum enrolment required for a course to proceed; unless there are extenuating circumstances, the course will run as scheduled.
We will make every effort to notify you of a cancellation, so it is important to provide both a daytime and evening phone numbers and email address.

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us as soon as possible. Cancellations take effect from the date your email is received.
Refunds are not offered under any circumstances.

However:
If you cancel at least 14 days before the course start date, you will receive a full credit, which can be transferred to another class once, within six months.
If you cancel up to 24 hours before the class begins, you may be eligible for a transfer credit, valid for 12 months from the date of the original class. This credit entitles you to re-book into another class of equal or lesser value, subject to availability. Places for re-booking with a transfer credit are released 3 days before a workshop commences and remain open until the day of the class or while spaces last. It is your responsibility to monitor availability and re-book accordingly. A transfer credit can only be re-booked only once, there will be no refund or transfer for further cancellations.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class, or on the day of the workshop, are not eligible for credit or transfer, regardless of circumstance. We kindly ask that you do not request exceptions, as refusal may cause offence.
