Get started in Block Printmaking with our playful, beginner-friendly workshop!
In this hands-on session, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of block printing through a series of guided exercises designed to boost your carving and printmaking confidence. You’ll experiment with shape, colour, layering, and composition; gathering plenty of inspiration and practical tips along the way. By the end, you’ll be well on your way to filling sketchbooks with bold, original prints.
In this workshop, you’ll:
Create your own stamp design
Make a sketchbook for printing in
Print on paper and book cloth

Please note:
Suitable for complete beginners includes tea, coffee and baked treats.
All materials and tools provided. You can purchase your own set of lino cutting tools and some rubber blocks to continue your new passion at home.
This is a technical but fun workshop, anyone with enthusiasm for making books and sewing is welcome to join in. No experience is necessary, but the workshop requires capability and confidence in using sharp instruments and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected.
