Stub Binding 1.01 - Sketching Album - 16th August 2025
Join our next class on the 16th August 2025
Time: 10am - 1.30pm
Cost: $200
The most common and popular style of Stub binding involves sewing each section to narrow, folded strips of paper (stubs) rather than directly to each other. Stub binding allows for much better opening of the book, especially with thick sections.
But Stub bindings are wonderfully versatile and there are many other techniques and styles to explore. In this class, we’ll be working with concertina stubs and surprisingly no sewing! We will finish the books with hardcovers, creating an album that opens beautifully flat; time permitting, we shall create two different designs of books. This is an elegant, solid and beautiful book, full of clever structure.
So get ready to joyfully perfect those folds; and no, you have not made these books before, so join us for this unique workshop.
Please Note:
This class is suitable for those who can follow verbal and visual instructions and have basic crafting skills such as cutting, folding, and measuring.
This class is not suitable for those with no bookbinding experience, completing at least one of our case-binding class is highly recommended to build foundational skills before joining this session.
All materials and tools are provided, along with tea, coffee, and biscuits.
Please review our Terms and Conditions carefully before booking, as refunds are not available for change of mind.
