This workshop invites your team to come together, get hands on, and discover the quiet joy of making books from scratch. It is social, tactile, and a little bit magical in the way paper, thread, and patience turn into something real.
Your team will be guided step by step through traditional bookbinding structures, the foundations of handmade bookmaking.
You will fold, sew, and assemble your own journal while learning simple but satisfying techniques that build confidence as you go. The pace is steady, supportive, and full of small moments of delight as the book begins to take shape in your hands.
By the end, every participant will have created a bundle of finished handmade notebooks to take home.
Something shifts when people make things together.
There is conversation, laughter, concentration, and the occasional triumphant “I did it” moment. It is a shared experience that feels both relaxing and rewarding, without any pressure or performance.
It is also a very good excuse to step away from emails for a while.
Each participant will create a chunky handmade journal from start to finish. It will be unique, personal, and full of character, shaped by your own choices of materials and construction.
No two books will ever be the same, which is part of the fun.
All materials and specialist tools are provided. A generous selection of papers and binding materials will be available so each journal can reflect individual style.
Tea, coffee, and biscuits are included, because good making deserves good snacks.
This workshop is designed for corporate teams, creative groups, and anyone who wants to do something a little different together.
No experience is needed. Just curiosity, willingness to try, and comfort using simple tools under guidance.
