Join us for an adventurous journey into the world of wild bindings. Discover the art of crafting with cane toad leather as we bind it into a stunning book using traditional bookbinding techniques.
In this interactive session, you'll learn the intricacies of a German-style bookbinding technique adapted by Isabelle for a square-ish book format. With expert guidance, you'll explore the unique properties of cane toad leather and combine it with beautiful book cloth to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Not only will you craft a beautiful book during the workshop, but you'll also gain valuable skills that empower you to create more books independently in the future.
Please note:
This class is NOT beginner-friendly. Must have taken Absolutely Beginner Bookbinding 1.01.
This is a very technical workshop which requires a high level of capability and confidence in using sharp instruments and being able to follow verbal instructions is expected. You will need to have completed at lease one of our Level 1 courses (1A or 1B) or already have good bookbinding skills, especially in sewing a multiple section book.
