The City and the Book is our three-part Artists’ book journey into the exploration of research, inspiration, narrative and book-making.

Immerse yourself in three sessions of artistic connection and inspiration! Whether you're a seasoned creative bookbinder, a beginner, an artist or just curious, join us this set of three monthly gatherings tailored for drawing, printmaking, drawing, and artists’ creative bookbinding. Expand your skills, share your stories, and dive into the vibrant world of artists' books.

Session Schedule
Each session is a meet-up, from 10 - 1.30pm, the dates are:

  • 9th August

  • 21st SeptemberWhat to Expect
    Each session is a journey of creativity, featuring, book making, drawing, printing, exploring different techniques.

This is a space for exploration and experimentation, not a formal class. Beginner bookbinders are warmly welcome; no prior experience in printmaking, drawing, or bookbinding is necessary.

  • Sometimes a suggested materials list will be provided (optional), or a materials fee, usually no more than $20 per session.

  • Bring your favourite supplies: stamp pads, watercolours, papers, illustrations, photocopies, paints, pencils, etc.

  • Enjoy tea and cakes while connecting with other participants!

Attendance is flexible but encouraged for the full experience.

Pricing & Membership

  • Wild Binder Members: $50 per session

  • Non-Members: $150 per session

Ensure your membership is up-to-date by February 1, 2025.

  • Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided in abundance—because they’re essential!
