This is a creative bookbinding workshop for those interested in making sculptural books that folds and moves.

The City and the Book is your journey into the exploration of research, inspiration, narrative and book-making.

Whether you're a seasoned creative bookbinder, a beginner, an artist or just curious, come and make an Artists’ Book with Isabelle. Tailored for making creative book structures, no two workshops are ever the same.

This is one workshop you won't want to miss! Together, we'll explore innovative book structures inspired by camera shutters, creating pages that open and close in fascinating ways.


What to expect:

  • You will be constructing books

  • You might have to paint, print and do little bits of drawing. Don’t worry, you will be fully guided.

  • You might have to colour-in and make decision about themes and designs

  • This class is a mix of bookbinding and some art making.

Please Note:

  • This class is suitable for those who can follow verbal and visual instructions and have basic crafting skills such as cutting, folding, and measuring.

  • This class is not suitable for those with no bookbinding experience, completing the Introduction to Bookbinding: Chunky Journal class is highly recommended to build foundational skills before joining this session.

  • All materials and tools are provided, along with tea, coffee, and biscuits.
